GUE Conference Highlights (Part 3 of 4) Focus: Field Trips
If you think the GUE Conference is all about listening to lectures indoors, think again! This year were hosting three very interesting field trips designed with the diver in mind.
Alachua Aquifer Tour
Guide: Dr. Todd Kincaid, GUE Science Director
Geological tour of the region exploring aquatic issues, including stops at many local springs, aquifer systems and a canoe trip down the Santa Fe River. Box lunch included.
GUE Skills and Equipment Demos at Manatee Springs State Park
Join GUE Instructors for skills reviews and in-water tips and techniques. Representatives from DUI, Halcyon, Extreme Exposure and others will be on-hand with their latest equipment available for demonstration and test diving. Informal equipment seminars will take place throughout the day. Dive for fun and socialize! BBQ lunch at 12 p.m.
Woodville Karst Plain Tour
Guide: Dr. Todd Kincaid, GUE Science Director
Join Todd for an exclusive tour of the region that put the WKPP on the world stage; this tour details the karst terrain outside Tallahassee, Florida.
Todd's personalized tour includes visits to local hydrogeological highlights including the famous Leon Sinks and Wakulla cave systems. The trip includes an overnight stay in the historic lodge at Wakulla Springs. Lunch will be provided over the course of the two day excursion while dinner and breakfast are available at Wakulla Lodge. This unique outing coupled with a fantastic host is destined to be one of our most popular offerings.
