"A SAD NOTE
"It is with extreme sadness that we must tell you that Greg Masi lost his battle with cancer Sunday night, October 4th. He died peacefully in his sleep. He had been battling brain cancer for 2-3 weeks. Greg was a fixture in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic wreck diving community for almost 30 years. If you did not know Greg personally, I am sure that you have a friend that did or you may have seen his name mentioned in one of Gary Gentile's many books. Greg was an OW Instructor Trainer and loved to share his passion for diving with people of all ages. While he was a pioneer in the early deep wreck diving of the east, it would never be something that you would hear him boast about. He was also a veteran on many of the original expeditions to wrecks like the Monitor, Ethel C, EM Clark, St Augustine, Bow Mariner and the Billy Mitchell fleet to just mention a few. Greg was passionate about all aspects of diving and his passing is a great loss to our community as a whole."
I attended his funeral services; damn near a full house.
