Hello All!

Well at the ripe old age of 40 I am starting (finally) on a quest that I have never thought possible. For some reason Scuba Diving seemed inaccessible to me for whatever reason. Turns out it was a lot easier than I thought!!!

On way to Playa del Carmen in mid March to complete the OWC portion of my initial steps. I am all geared up and ready to stay wet in 2013.

A life long attraction to the aquatic world is finally having some tangible participation!!

I lurked on this Board for a bit while I was trying to learn everything I could get my hands on, researched kit, and recommendations on locales and shops. So thank you!!!

Plenty of time for a lifetime of diving adventures! Some people here started at a much later stage in life. Enjoy!

Thanks to all that posted....your words were never more truer!! Was in contact with the operation in Playa this weekend and am very pretty fired up about the plan. After the OWC is completed, they have set up a drift dive on a couple of popular spots.

Not to get ahead of myself, but I am already charting out some trips in the near future too!! Stuck here in Chicago with no Ocean Views, I am going to see what I can find out about getting in the Great Lakes this summer too. As wreck diving is most definetely on my radar for adventures.

New person question: will I be uncomfortable in a 3mm jumpsuit in 80 degree water?

Thanks again and looking forward to learning, living, and sharing the new adventures in diving.
