Hi everyone,

I've been visiting the forum for awhile now but never had the urge to join until an old regulator of mine took a dump and I needed some advice...so.....here I am.

I was certified NAUI in 1973 and went on to become a YMCA Instructor in the late 70's. My how things have changed in the last 40 yrs! I'm no longer an active instructor but somehow it never gets out of your blood, especially when you're watching all of these wonderful newbies with all the latest equipment, trying to figure out how to make an entry without losing everything overboard. You old timers know exactly what I'm talking about!

I don't do much diving in the Great Lakes anymore, although I've done my fair share in Superior, Michigan and Huron, as well as most of the ponds and lakes around here. And Yes, I still have my Uni-Suit hanging in the basement, just in case they find that treasure ship that went down bringing gold to South Haven for the peach harvest (local lore)! Warm water diving has become the preferred fix to my addiction for the last 15 yrs or so. My bestest dive buddy (my wife) and I try to visit a different area in the Caribbean each year. Our MO is to cruise and dive where they visit, then if a particluar area really impresses us, we'll go back at a later date and spend a week or or two really exploring the area. The next stop is most likely Bonaire. Haven't made it to the South Pacific yet, but it is on the bucket list....someday!

Have fun and stay safe!

Thanks, maybe someday I'll be an ex-Michigan diver too! The winters haven't been too bad lately, but that can change in one quick storm. We're not that far inland from Lake Michigan, and the snow likes to accumulate right in my driveway, or so it seems!
