Hi dudes and dudettes!

I'm Stein, from the lovely and cold northern parts of Norway...
I haven't had a single dive yet, got my mind set on a course within the next month. Always seeking new adventures and diving has been om my to-do list for years. Last week I got the "why the hell not now"-feeling and bought myself a complete gear. Friend of mine got it new 3 years back, used it once and put it away. Got it so cheap I just had to go spend my money.
Dry suit might be too large as he is nearly a full head taller than me... Felt like the upper body was perfect, leaving some room for warmer clothes. From the waist down on the other hand... Baggy legs/feet... Problem? Can I still use it? Waddaya think?

Anyways, can't wait to join in on the underwater fun !

Scary :) Not a single dive yet and I'm already looking for extra stuff. Pony, knives etc etc :)

Speaking of spending money... Someone told there's some sort of "guards" I can wrap round my legs to avoid that baggy feel when using a large dry suit...? Where can I buy these?

Welcome overboard.

Im also from Norway, but the more southern but still damn cold part..

Is the legs of the suit baggy because they are long? If so it IS possible and adviseable to shorten the legs.. (OF THE SUIT!)

Harstad here... Not as cold as in the south today :)
How can I do this? legs are a bit too long, shoe size could easily be downed one size as well...

Welcome.

Save some money for lessons and Caribbean trips.

Given the fact hes from Norway, red sea and thailand is more common places to travel - but same difference - itll be a lot of expenses going there twice a year or more :p

Welcome on board! There are some really nice cold water reef in Norway and while people dream about Thailand and Caribbean, I would love to join you in Norway any day over those tropical destinations.

Give me some time to actually get in the water, learn the skills and then I'll inviter you over! Any day!

Been reading around in here for some days now... If someone wants to write down and explain some of the "slang" used here, it would be great...
I got DM as DiveMaster and SB as ScubaBoard... And that's about it :)
