Hi everyone.

I managed to stumble upon all this recently when doing some research. I have a couple of old Suunto dive computers that I am hoping to resurrect and and found a post here that shows how to change the batteries yourself. Good deal! It's been too many years since I've been in the water and I'm hoping to get my feet wet again very soon. My wife has decided that she would like to learn so we are working towards getting her certified.

Talk to you all again soon.

Remove the back cover...then the battery cover. You can get new batteries at Radio Shack...they are not cheap, I paid $17 a pop last year. Re-installing the 0-ring is bear..be super careful positioning it

BTW, I'm coast...Cocoa Beach

Thanks for the info. I managed to get some batteries, but my initial worries proved true. The old batteries leaked acid and it looks like the units are toast. Any recommendations for a drop-in replacement? I have the console with compass and pressure gauge and would hate to have to replace the whole thing.

P.S. The computers that I have are the Suunto SME-ML.

Their console is very unique....think the the best bet is replacement...try Oceanic, their computers are much more easier to operate
