Hello,
Though I got my OW certif. back in 91, for all intents and "porpoises" ;) I'm a newby. As you'll see in my profile I'd done just a few and far in between dives since then. My partner (Sam) really fell in love with it on a few discover SCUBA vacations and decided to get certified. I decided to accompany him in his OW classes and get a refresher for myself. That being done this past May 17th, and with a bunch of new equipment purchased, it's time to make some contacts with similar interests and with knowledge and experience to share.
Let's see as far as I'm concerned in the way of introduction: I'm a quiet, easy going guy. I'm 35 (so you don't have to do the math from my profile info.) Artistic (just started work on a painting of some amazing midnight parrots I saw on the Benwood Wreck.) Also a bit of a science nerd or frustrated naturalist... love to explore and see reefs and marine life, etc.
Well that's enough sharing I think, just would like to thank everyone for all the great info and tips that I've been finding in this site, and though I have two of them, that whole MOD killing cats thread was hilarious!

WELCOME TO :sblogo:
It's wonderful to share dives with the ones you love! Good luck with all your adventures and maybe I will see you underwater one day! Check out the Florida Forum for meets and greets! It's a fun way to meet fellow bubblers!

Welcome to Scubaboard and Back to Scuba.

The Benwood is a great dive. If possible post a pic of your painting when done.

welcome aboard

Glad you found the forum. I wish I had more artistic talents, but can't paint or draw. I'm doing a lot of glass fusing with diving themes. My husband cuts all the glass (power tools and I don't mix) and I do all the kiln and finishing work. I guess I'm more of a craftsman, than artist. My husband is my dive buddy too, and I think I love diving a little more than him, but bless his heart, he's there when I want to dive!

If ya'll are in Miami, you should have lots of good diving! We go down to West Palm Beach and also Key Largo, plus some liveaboards.

Welcome aboard!
