Hi, My name is Bruce Corbett. I'm currently uncertified. I have classes scheduled to become certified coming up quickly this year. My classes are with Deep Blue Scuba in Austin Tx for ANDI OWD certification. I'm currently studying the printed material and have my first weekend of training for the classroom/pool training on October 6th-7th. I'm taking everything very seriously, especially the risks involved and how to avoid them. It is a bit intimidating to say the least, and a lot to learn, but hopefully I am able to build the confidence and skills required to become a safe and responsible diver. If anyone has any advice, tips, suggestions, or just wants to say hi, everything is welcome. I've been reading through some very good posts for new divers here in this community and I would like to say thank you to everyone here.

Who are you? What do you want? Why are you here?

 I'm just messing with you. Welcome to Scubaboard. We like new divers (and those that think they want to be divers.)

Pay attention to your instructor. Stay calm. Use good gear. Everything else will work itself out. And don't forget to have fun. :D

Hi, Bruce.....

Welcome to ScubaBoard!!!! And welcome to the wonderful world of scuba!!! About the only advice I can give is pay attention to what your instructor is teaching you... just that could save your butt someday (it already saved mine when I had a regulator problem at 35'). And most of all.... HAVE FUN!!

I just completed my checkout dives over the weekend and had a great time. I can't wait to get back in the water now. I think I'm hooked. :)
