Greater Toronto Area Argon Gas Sources

Hi All

Looking for sources of argon gas fills in the Greater Toronto Area, when I can't get to Northern Tech Diver.

Also, reliable Nitrox blenders.

Any suggestions?

What do you mean by reliable Nitrox blenders? Do you not analyze your mix when you pick it up?

Argon is the principle shield gas in TIG welding (tungston inert gas).

I get my from the local welding supply dealer.

I always analyze the mix.

However, I have had good and bad experiences, in terms of completion of Nitrox fills on time and blending to the requested percentage. It is not helpful when a shop runs out of O2 ... or .... only completes a partial pressure blend 15 minutes prior to your departure deadline (such that you do not know where the mix will settle) .... or .... gets the blend wrong.

I deal with Northern Tech Diver, when I am diving in the Kingston area. I also dealt with Fred at TAM dive, as he was close to my work, was fairly fastideous, always accurate and almost always on time. TAM is now out of business.

So I am back looking for a "reliable" blender. Someone fastideous about their gas quality and mix accuracy, that has a professional business attitude and delivers service, on time. I know a couple of names, but I do not know their reputation.

So ... any comments or suggestions. Feel free to contact me privately, if you wish.

Hi Mike

So if I identify alocal welding supply dealer in the GTA (and I'm open to suggestion), they will be prepared to (and have the fittings for) filling my Luxfor 6 cf AL tank? Or do I need to acquire/bring fittings with me.

Also, is the argon they use pure? I might be concerned if there were other gasses or contaminents swirling around in my drysuit. I suppose that would depend what they were. I'm probably being abit too fastidious, but that is my nature.

Who would you suggest in the GTA?
