My wife and I moved from Miami to NJ a couple of months ago, and decided to go to an aquarium to say hi to our underwater friends again and headed for NY Aquarium at Coney Island. After a long, long train trip, we got to a pretty nice aquarium, with big tiger sharks, lots of familiar faces from the Key Largo seas, etc. What was more impressive was the aquarium's volunteer diver program, where divers could take active role in maintaining the exibits and also help customers better understand the underwater ecology.

The other side of the picture screams "free labor", but anyway, it was good to see other divers in action. A dad was trying to get a little girl to go over to the next exibit, and the girl was like, "daddy I wann see the scuba diver!!". Well, obviously divers are a must see rarity in NY. hehe.

Anyone here work for the place? I think you all deserve a round of applause for your good work. Anyone in the Coney Island area interested about the program here's a link:
