I was reluctant to post this information on the board until fact as some folks know.
However I can say POSITIVELY that Olympus is servicing PT-015 housing that are NOT within the warranty period, mine was 15 months old. Heres the scoop, I noticed the dreaded mode moved with on/off lever signs of weeping and tiny salt crystals many had noted on this board. So I am now in O-ring hell as many other have been.
I called Olympus 3 times and talked to customer service and they assured me that they do offer a ALL O-ring replacement and through cleaning of the housing for 85.00 plus 12.00 shipping. Having read many post on this subject I still did not feel comfortable with customer service's word, so I called Olympus Tech support and was helped by a guy named Steve that again told me the same info and issued me a case #. They emailed me a repair subbmission/credit card authorization form which I filled out and mailed off with my housing.

Mailed insured with signature confirm on 2/12/05
I was emailed on 2/17/05 housing was on its way back and total was 97.37
Housing arrived 2/22/05
They replaced my housing with a brand new one with diffrent serial #
I called the number on the repair form that came with housing and was told I have 1 year replacement warranty with this new housing. I also inquired about the fact that they are still going to offer the O-ring replacement and cleaning and was told YES. They did not state why the housing was not service and replaced instead but for 97.00 I not gonna complain.
I was also told by Steve at Tech support they are going to support this housing for atleast 7 years that is company policy. He also hinted that the reason they are no longer making that housing is a new one may be on the horizon. FACT OR FICTION your guess is as good as mine but thats the answer I got when I asked why production was stopped so soon.
So for everyone in the same boat as I was there is HOPE.
