I'm glad to see that you've created a forum for this topic. I've only done a tiny bit of solo diving but plan to do more when circumstances and training make it feasible for me to do more. Look forward to learning tips and recommendations from the more experienced divers. After all isn't that what Scubaboard is all about?

PADI does NOT have a solo program. It is not clear who elmar certifies through but you can bet it's not PADI.

From the elmar site:


Upon successful completion of this course, graduates will receive an SDI Solo Diver certification.
