Hello,
My family is planning a trip to Tankah Bay for Christmas, and are looking to do some great diving. We have been on a few trips in the last few years and want to have great diving. I've heard several of the best sites are by Cozumel, but I want to know if the sites in Tankah Bay are equivilant, is it easy to get to Cozumel to do these great dives, or should we be planning to go to Cozumel instead? Any help in specific dive sites and dive shops are greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Go to Cozumel for the ocean dives. While you are at Tankah, you are next to some to the best cenote diving in the world.

As an all round location,I would pick Tankah or Soliman over Cozumel any day. there is nothing to do but dive in Cozumel and the cenotes are definitely some of the best dives in the world and totally different from ocean diving. The ocean diving is good too but is much more likely to get blown out than Cozumel, but you have the cenotes inland so there is always some good diving to be found. The closest shops , and the only ones with local knowledge of the reefs off Tankah and Soliman bays are Lucky Fish Diving right in Tankah Tres where you are thinking of staying and Maya Diving at Dreams Resort about 5 minutes walk on the beach to the south. Both shops are very professional
