We had some of the best conditions of the year this morning. Unfortunately, we were at the wrong place with the wrong lenses. Fog on the peninsula's south side kept Merry Passage and me close to home. Because of the recent poor visibility, we were set up for macro. We dropped at Golf Ball Reef West, our first dive here in years. The surface water looked dark and green under the overcast sky, but once we jumped in, everything opened up. At thirty feet, I could see our anchor thirty-five feet below. There aren't many photo subjects on this side of the reef, but a sea lion seemed to be enjoying it. She posed for us by sitting on the bottom, probably knowing we had macro lenses. I took a couple of shots but they were terrible. Visibility was at least twenty-five feet with a temperature of 59° on the bottom.

Very nice photos thanks for sharing. I hear your frustration at having a macro lens on when the sea lions are frolicking

Reminds me of a joke I heard in YellowStone
“Aren’t you scared of the wolves?”
“Nah, I carry a camera”.

Bemoaning the lack of subjects when you have the right camera and lens combo

Happy diving
