I think it was Global that used to carry a Grease Pencil slate. Has anyone seen one recently? Global's site is dealer only AFAICT and I am not working at a shop now.

Does anyone know Global's web site address?

You might also want to take a look at the AquaSketch.

I bought it am I am very happy with it. The text written using the pencil is real dark. This is not a Etch-a-Sketch or Magna-Doodle. It is a simple, low-tech inexpensive option that actually works well. I paid $29.95 plus shipping.

I had previously tried a regular slate (text too light), and a Magna Doodle (text has to be written too large to be readable). You simply use a regular pencil eraser to erase the text. It also has a frame that absorbs UV light and helps with reading what you wrote on night dives and in low visibility situations.

The LeisurePro site has 6 reviews from people who have purchased the unit. I have not yet put up my review.

That looks really cool.

What is the pencil made of?

I am not sure. It looks like graphite like a regular pencil but it says it never needs sharpening.

When you write with it is the text dark like using the old #2 pencil on regular paper. I also like the fact that there are very few moving parts and its simple design. This means less to go wrong.

I will try to look at the original packaging (if I still have it) yo see if it indicates what the pencilis made of.

You might want to go to the AquaSketch web site adn give them a call. If you find out let me know.

If you get one I would use a regular kid's soft pencil eraser instead of the one they give you with the AquaSketch.
