Hey!

Well, Second time around back to PDC!!!

This time staying at GSP (Jr. Deluxe Swim-Out Suite)...first time I stayed at Gran Bahia Principe Akumal...

1) I know GSP is a lot closer then GBP (15 min taix ride) but does the collectio run as well? and how much?

2) I've searched the forum and it seems like there is a Seapro Drive shop (anyone have any good review about them?) or should I just take (taxi or collectio) go into PDC and find a shop there?

3)If I do take the bus/cab who's a good dive shop to check out?

I'm looking to do my AOW :) I can't wait!!!

Thanks,
HunG

I stayed @ GSP in November. I took a cab to and from PDC every day, it will run you around $12USD (although I always gave $15).

As far as dive shops I personally try to steer clear of the on-resort shops, but that is just me so I cannot speak to them directly. In PDC I use Abyss Dive Center. They are very safe, and run small groups. The largest group they will take is 6 divers, but I have been on many dives with just the guide me and my wife. Being smaller groups, they can do the type of dives YOU want to do.

The other advantage of going in to PDC is you can do some shopping and other touristy stuff while your there. I liked to have a massage post dive, $50 for two people for an hour on the beach, about a quarter of what the hotel spa charges :D

The one thing I would suggest if you dive with a shop in town is to check if they do baited or shark feeding dives. It is really a pet peeve of mine, I personally feel it is an irresponsible practice. Most of the dive shops do not, but a couple of them do

Enjoy your trip and have a safe and fun time diving!

I see you have gone to PDC and used dive shops in town. Has anyone used the dive operation at the resort? How much did the abyss charge? Does anyone know their pricing? Or the size of tanks, aluminum/steel?
Many thanks.

I found someone that works at the scuba store.

I think he can help you out.

I just came back from a stay at the Princess. Originally I had arranged to dive with Geofish but a friend who was with us had some unfortunate luck so due to time and logistics I went with Seapro at the resort for some quick diving. My take on them.....stay clear of the the OP at the Princess. I wont get into what happened but they totally broke every rule that I know of. Complete disregard for safety and common sense. I would sooner not dive then dive with that operation again. If you want to no more PM me and I will inform you.
