I am going to be in Grand Cayman from 9/4/ through 9/13 to do some diving. My exwife can't make it and she was my dive buddy. Anybody out there planning to be there over those dates who wants to dive? Lemme know.

I'll be in there, Diving with Ocean Frontiers. I'm solo as the wife is non-immersible. Planing on at least AM dives on 9th, 10th, 11th. My profile has most of my experience.

Ocean Fronteirs will pair you up if you dont have a buddy and are an excellent Op.
You will have agreat time and i'd guarantee youd have no regrets after the dives my wife and I had w/ them in June. Friendly people and also check out the weekly BarBQ with UW movies

Not worried about OF. I keep hearing great things about them. I was hoping to try a shore dive or 2 at Edan rock. Not sure how easy it would be for a solo walk-in to find a buddy. I can count on the wife for a deco rum punch after the dive, but she will not go deeper than the hot tub.

My wife and I have been there only once (2 weeks), but this what what we found
OF are a proimo dive operation

Eden Rock and the Groto (they sell UW map cards) see a steady stream of divers or you could ask for a guide which will maximize the "finding" on a tank.

You might ask if they have gotten a surfboard yet. One of their divemasters had to swim out and tow back an elderly snorkler from another shop who got into trouble and could have used a board for speed and safety.

Sunset house is another good shore dive - can see the LST and Mermaid on one tank, saw lion fish that the person at the dive desk did not care about; And you "MUST" do the stingray dive (w/ OF?)....they nibble your palm, soft velvet bellies and hard scaled backs...was told the amount of chum being offered is limited so the fish still learn to hunt for themselves

Kaibo (stand up paddle board) and Rum Point (busy beach activities) are delightful and good food

Thanks for the help drmbloom. But Scubaboard has come through again. I'm hooking up with a local DM for some shore dives. And it's only going to cost a few thousand Cayman dollars in drinks. ;)
