My wife and I plan to visit Grand Cayman in March. Any suggestions for reliable/reputable dive operators?

Thanks,
Steve

Steve pretty much all the dive ops in GC are reputable.I would choose one close to where you are staying or from where their boat leaves to make it easy on you.I rate the diving on island as such

1 - Northwall

2 - East End

3 - South Side

4 - West side

To me all diving on island is good there is always something of interest.

A lot of the areas are weather dependant so you might not get to certain areas but most dive ops will adjust to try to get a day of diving in. The island is about 24 miles long you just have to watch the traffic if you need to travel in the morning.

Where are you staying?

I stayed for a week this past April at The Sunset House with a group of 14 and it was amazing!!! We did shore dives anytime we wanted right from the shore outside the hotel and boat dives from their boats that left from right outside the hotel. Everyone that works there is absolutely phenomenal. I was a new diver when I went down there but we had every experience level in our group. The Dive Masters were awesome! They were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and a whole lot of fun to be around! They took us to some great sites and made us all feel so catered to! I would go back to the Sunset House in a heartbeat! Cayman Islands Scuba Diving Resort

We haven't made any reservations yet. We have the option to stay at Morritt's Grand Resort, Tortuga Club, and Compas Point Dive resort. So I'll be looking for shops close to these resorts.

Thanks for the feedback.

Don't mean to HiJack the thread. Thanks for this. We are going to GC in November and will be going to Sunset house for a week. Glad to hear you had a great time. i am sure we will.

Steve,

When we were in Grand Cayman we stayed at The Reef Resort on the east end and dove with Ocean Encounters out of Compass Point. If/when we go again we will stay at Compass Point. Great folks!!

Staying at Morritts Grand but will have a car. We are experienced and want as much bottom time as we can get. Is there a difference between OF and the onsite shop Tortuga? I seem to feel Tortuga is a timed dive while with OF you can dive your computer. Any Comment?
