Hello all.... just joined and this looks like a very informative place......

I'll be taking my boat to Grand Bahama soon and would like to know if anyone knows where I can find a decent collection of GPS coordinates for dive sites around GB.

I've been there many times before and dove quite a bit with Unexso (Theo's wreck and too many reefs to name) and Xanadu (Ben's cave) -- but this is the 1st time on my own boat... trying to avoind going to the dive shops and pumping them for their best spots!

Thanks for any help and again, cool board!

Most of the good sites have moorings (dropping anchor on the reefs is frowned on).

The moorings belong to the Bahamas Dive Association.

You might want to look into port fees for bringing over your boat. It may be cheaper to dive with one of the dive ops.

Thanks, Tavi.... BTW, I'm not bringing my own boat to save money.... (not with gas over $5 a gallon)... I can fly there for (much) less than round trip fuel costs......... I'm doing this for fun........ and for the thrill of being "in charge"....

I'm surprised GPS coordinates are this hard to find for such a popular destination..

Are private boats allowed to use the moorings when noone is there? Assuming, of course, I leave if a commercial dive boat shows up....
