I have never been to Maledives and plan to go there in February 2026 with a small group for approx. 2 weeks.
I am looking for a quiet and simple, e.g. 3*, divers-resort. Basic condition is a beautiful housereef, everything else is secondary...
So far I have found "Embudu Village" and the "Kuda Bandos Resort" that may fulfill our expectations and also our budgets (flight, accomodation, full board and 12 days housereef diving make up to approx. 4300 - 4400 Euros/person (I guess this is "on budget" for the Maledives?).
Do these locations really provide excellent housereef diving (I heared that resorts on the outer side of the Atolls have the best housereefs, both do not seem to fulfill these criteria)?
Are there also other, similar, or even better resorts to recommend?
I have heared about precarious diving spots on the Maledives (e.g. chaos when hundreds of people chase whale sharks or even fed tigersharks) and we certainly are not eager to dive at such spots...
Thank You for advise, Wolfgang
