I've been keeping an eye on the weather in Dallas the last ten days or so. If there's ever a trouble spot flying from here to Florida, Mexico or Belize, it's always the summer thunderstorms in Dallas, where I make my connections.

I've gotten stuck twice, once here in Portland and once in Dallas, due to lightning strikes in the DFW area. With less than an hour to change concourses and planes in DFW on Friday, it's important to stay on schedule.

Friday's forecast: sunny, high of 98 and most importantly zero per cent chance of precipitation.

Cool! :yeahbaby:

It will be great to get back to Belize.

Yeah, Texas is in the midst of one of the worse droughts in history. :(

And while that may be great for flying into and out of DFW Airport, the lack of rainfall will have serious consequences, statewide, in a very short period of time.

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing a few days of steady rainfall, with a thunderboomer or two thrown in.

Where are those Canadian cold fronts when you need them most?

Oops, sorry. I didn't realize my gain was also Texas' pain.

Here in Puddleville, it's been one of the coolest and wettest springs/early summers ever--and that's saying something for the Pacific Northwest. If I could, I'd be happy to bring a few million gallons of rainwater with me to Texas as we've got it coming out of our ears.

And we've broken 80 degrees only twice this year (last weekend) and 70 degrees maybe ten times. People here panic if they spot a big yellow ball in the sky.

Cold and wet or hot and dry. Pick your poison.

Yep, we're currently 18" behind normal on rainfall, with no immediate relief in sight.
