I will be in Grand Turk on October 16, 2009 with 3 other divers aboard the Emerald Princess. I am looking for a good dive boat to take the 4 divers out for some awesome wall dives. We arrive at 7:00a.m. and depart at 4:00p.m. We all have been on many of cruise ships, but never dive with the ship. We always dive with the local boats because we do not like the hand holding and limitations impossed by the cruise lines.

Can someone recommend a good contact in Grand Turk. We live in Florida and dive weekly. All have own grear, but will need tanks. Thanks for your assistance. feel free to e-mail me directly at craig@winnerman.us or call 727-789-2297

Hi Craig,

We dived with Cecil Ingham's Sea Eye diving a few years ago (2000 or 2001))and they were great. (http://seaeyediving.com/) When we return there, we will be diving with them. Looking at their website, it seems that they have mostly the same staff as when we were diving with them.

We stayed on the island in August, and also dove with Blue Water; had a blast. Mitch, Monica, Dan, and Jesse are good people. Small boats; 10 minute ride to excellent wall diving. I added a link to a video I edited mostly from underwater footage taken in Grand Turk, set to music. Might provide some idea of what to expect. Hope you enjoy it.

My advice would be to get away from the ship terminal; that place is a zoo. Go hang at the Sand Bar or the Osprey after your dives, if you get the chance.

Have a great trip!

I concur with Maredsous. The Sandbar or the Osprey ( where we stayed) are excelent post dive spots. To bad you cant stay longer. Its a great island.
