I am looking for a good dive destination for a one week long dive trip with my girlfriend, she will soon be getting her open water certification, I have been diving for 20 years with well over 1,000 logged dives, although not too many in the last few years. In general I would prefer to find a smaller resort no real active night life, although some none scuba stuff might be nice, connection with the outside world, preferably with internet connection is important in case of work emergencies. I would like somewhere that offers around 3-5 dives per day including some night dives, I suspect my girlfriend would be interested in making 1-2 dives per day, and I would need to be able to buddy up with other divers for the rest of the time, and there need to be some activities for my girlfriend when not diving.I have given thought to CoCoView on Roatan, I have been there twice before, but it has been many years, on the other hand some place different might be nice also. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any thoughts on Inn of Last Resort also on Roatan? Or any other locations to suggest?

Thanks Ike

yup... hard to beat Bonaire

the reason is that the diving is great, there's a modicum of things to do while on the surface, and you can shore dive at your own pace all you want at dozens of locations

CocoView is excellent, but it's dive 24/7 ... probably not the pace your gf would want ... and it's hard to get around outside the resort

so ... i'd say Bonaire, perhaps Grand Cayman (a bit pricey) for much more topside activity

Bonaire
Loads of good resorts, personaly I like Sandollar, very easy and safe dives with no current but loads to see.
Shore dive, night dive, etc at no cost.
Lots of good buddies so should be able to pair up when she does not want to dive.
Small town with a few good resteraunts and bars.
