When I was a kid I lived next to a golf course, initially collected and sold balls and did some caddying. Later moved and lived next another golf course. Worked for the course pro, cleaned and put clubs away, picked up range balls plus worked on the ground crew as well.
Being a teenager we also caused a bit of mayhem. The golf course was in an old apple orchard so we would collect apples and have late night crab apple fights. One person would drive the cart while the other threw apples. That was good fun until we damaged a few carts. Of course didn't help that we also figured out how to pilfer booze from the clubhouse.
In many ways it was a bit like Caddy Shack.
