Going to Key West Lobster Season

I am new to this, I just joined and my boyfriend and my 4 children are going down to Key West the 5th of Aug and myself and 3 of my children do not dive but love to Snorkel are there any areas that are not too deep that we could find lobsters? We do have a boat any suggestions would be helpful, in the past I have heard that in the mangroves is this true. Please respond so I do not continue to have this argument with my boyfriend. Me and my girlferiend are going down there also. We'll be there the 12th -18th. We will be in Bahia Honda for 2 days then off to key west for the rest of the trip. We will be snorkeling arounf trying to find some lobster. We are both totally new to this but really wanna try it out. Is there anyone thats gonna be in the area that knows the ins and outs of lobstering and could maybe show us the ropes?
