From this site figure on stayin Captin Don's? Just me so either team up with other divers at the larger hotel or dive ops.

Where you stay really depends on what you are looking for. Capt Don's is a nice resort and from what I hear, their dive shop is first class but the reality is that there are a lot of good resorts and dive ops on Bonaire. As for dive ops, I prefer to use the op that is associated with the resort, I just find it easier that way. There are no bad ops that I am aware of on Bonaire. If you want a really nice (fancy) place, then the Plaza may be your choice, for the best (cheapest) deal, Wannadivehut is very hard to beat. You also need to decide is how far you want to be from town ( do you want to be able to walk to a lot of restaurants) and do you want to do only shore diving, boat only or a mix. If you want to do shore diving, then a vehicle is necessary. We have 2 places we use depending on our trip requirements. If we have several people with us, we stay at Buddy Dive and get their "Dive and Drive" package which is airport pickup/room/breakfast/truck/unlimited air. If I am making a quick trip with my wife, the we stay at Wannadivehut and dive with WannadiveBonaire. Both of these places have great staff, both at the hotel and the dive ops. The biggest difference between them is their location, (BD is on the water, WDH is not) and the "quality" of the rooms. Both are clean but BD is nicer and bigger with a full condo, while WDH is just a regular motel type room. There are a lot of places that are fine to stay at. I would not recommend an all inclusive plan at any place (with the exception of breakfast), there are just too many good places to eat on Bonaire to be stuck at any resort.

If you want to find a dive buddy, you can try going over to the Bonaire board and letting them (us) know you are going to be on island and are looking for a buddy. I had the pleasure of meeting 2 single divers last year and had a blast showing them around the island. www.bonairetalk.com

No matter what dive shop that you go through make sure you sign up for a night dive. Dont leave without doing one!
