I'd like to get started in photography and some occasional video. I have an older Canon A95 camera that is 5Mp and has taken some pretty good photos on land. I don't know if it's worth buying an underwater housing for the A95 or if I should just buy a newer camera.

Do any of the newer digital cameras take good underwater video as well as still photos? Any suggestions for say something under $600, including housing? I do most of my diving in the Pacific NW (Alaska) where the visibility is pretty poor so I don't know if the internal strobe will be enough for macro shots or not. Geeze, I've got a lot to learn and it is a bit overwhelming.

My A95 in movie mode does not allow any zoom or changing focus once you start the video, it's limited to 30 second clips at 15 fps.
