Is there any good photoshop technique or program from removing some small particles in a photo. I know when you are scanning negatives, there are programs that remove dust. Is there any way to do this for photos?

Be careful with dust and scratches as it can leave an artifact line between where you selected to use the filter and the rest of the image. Blow your image up large enough to see this boundary area. Dust and scratches works by blurring the small points of lighter back scatter so it also blurs important details. The healing brush tool can also produce artifacts. Although it takes more time, if you need to eliminate backscatter in an area with important details, use the clone tool. It is surprisingly fast and I find it sort of restful to sit and clone. Of course, I usually only have one or two particles of backscatter in my images. (I can't imagine any of you actually believing that line of bull but I can't help the wishful thinking!)
