Getting discouraged.......help!!!

Very glad to hear that things are going well. As to going from the pool to OW; well don't count on the viz being the same ;) The water will most likely be cooler and there will most likely be some fish in the area if you are quarry diving for your OW.

The skills you learned in the pool are the same as what you will do during your OW dives so there is nothing new there except maybe some compass work. The most common advice given is to relax, relax, relax, relax, and make sure your relax. You already know what to do. Make sure you do weighting checks and take time to get proper bouyancy control. Once you are settled then you are ready to do your skills as asked for by your instructor. As with most diving, move slowly through the water and enjoy what there is to see. Even in low viz areas there is stuff to see if you take the time to see it.

It really is important to relax and enjoy yourself.
