Hello everyone! Myself(DM),wife(OW), and son( 11 year old Jr ow) will be visiting the cairns area this august and we need some help with a place that will accommodate my son and the limits he has to dive under. We are just looking for a day trip, I know my son loves to dive but don't think he can handle a live aboard just yet. Any places in particular we should be looking at or specific dive sites that are shallow enough for us?? We usually get weird looks from the crew when we show up with a JR diver, so anyone that knows how to work with kids would be great! He is a great diver, by the way. With a grandfather as an instructor and a DM for a dad, he didn't really have a chance,

Thanks in advance,

Jeffrey

if he is already certified then no problem with any of the boats. I would recommend Tusa as a good choice. Less crowded and more attentive crew. They go to sites suitable for intro divers as well as snorkellers so all sites less than the 12m restrictions set by being junior diver (there are deeper ones for certified divers) . Obviously you will be diving with him, but you can always tag along with a shared guide too if you want.
