Hi
I have a 3 consule aqualung gauge and after 30 dives, the barometer half of it filled with water or some kind of fluid but there is no sign of crack or leakage and after 2 months the water didnt emptied or vaporized and its still there, and the gauge itself works without any failure.
So i have questions that what should i do?is it safe to dive with it?or should i put it away?can it be repaired?
tnx

So is it my fault that it fails? I mean why this happened?pressure, falling off?
Or its because of poor quality?

Were you wearing split fins at the time of failure? Seriously, this could be important...but probably not. This sounds like the perfect opportunity to upgrade to a Cobalt because methinks your current gear has crapped out. Do NOT, under any circumstances, consider using the creamy water in your coffee.

The water in the gauge is the sign of the crack or leakage. Not an issue of fault unless it is under warranty - worth a try. It short time, water will do the job of destroying the gauge workings. Replace it.

Danial, I think your case seal has failed/cracked. How long have you been diving it with the water in it? Can't leave it like that even if the needle seems to be working. Others here should be able to give you better advice than I can. (Not counting the posts above mine) I'm reasonably sure you'll have to replace it.

The only way to get water into the gauge is through the external case.

You have a cracked case
or
Missing/Leaking burst plug
or
(less likely) leaking o ring.

The reason it isn't leaking air out is the coiled tube is intact,
What the water will damage is the delicate armature/quadrant and spring of the actual needle.

The fact that the water inside has turned milky indicates that corrosion is taking place.

You guys are all missing the obvious.

The water is creamy in colour so my assumption would be that the creamy colour comes from aluminium oxide which would mean that the water was in a tank that he rented and got into his reg that way.

either way, if I'm right the gauge is wrecked and the whole regulator will need servicing.

R..

thanks for your useful answers
about the warranty the aqualung authorized dealer said that its your fault and warranty is no useful ( i guessed that they will not help cause in iran there is no rule at all :D,they just sell stuffs and no services)
actually for my next gear i must care much more :)

Not only would water not exit the Bourdon tube into the gauge face without quite the noticeable leak, but who hooks their tank to their barometer?

Take the gauge to your dive shop, but realize that a new or used depth gauge is cheap enough it's probably not worth the trouble of trying to get it replace under warranty.
