Has anyone had any luck with rechargeable battery for Garmin T1? I'm not sure if it's because it's higher voltage but the rechargeable battery won't work at all even fully charged.

A rechargeable CR123 is probably 3.7V compared to the non-rechargeable 3.0V. That's more than a 20% increase in voltage. There are three possible outcomes:
1. The T1 has a voltage regulator and will drop the 3.7V to 3.0V. It is not designed to use rechargeable CR123 batteries, so this is unlikely the case. If this was the case, the transmitter would work as normal.
2. The T1 has a protection circuit that will shut down with over- and/or under-voltage. In this case the transmitter wouldn't work, but will be OK if you put the proper battery in.
3. The T1 has no regulator or protection circuitry. If this is the case, you've just fried the electronics inside your transmitter.
