Does anyone have any recent feedback on if the Galapagos Sky is still operating on 1 engine? I read multiple reviews saying they had experienced engine issue on dives starting back in late Nov '13. I saw a recent review posted on another site dated 02/25 saying that they had an engine failure on the "2nd day" out of port. Seems like the engine problem has been ongoing since the end of Nov. 3 months to get engine issues resolved seems excessive. It would be nice to hear from some recent guests on how the boat is performing. Most of what I've read says the crew is great and does a wonderful job, but not being able to do the full itinerary due to boat maintenance issues would be concerning.

Thanks for any feedback from recent guests.

Moving this enquiry up. I'm also interested in anything regarding Galapagos Sky, engines, waste systems, overall maintenance and anything else of note. Thanks.

I was on the Sky April 18-26, and we had no issue with the boat at all. The food was phenomenal. The crew was amazingly accommodating, competent and fun. The rooms are really nice, especially the absence of bunks. Our bathroom did have a kind of funky smell if we left the toilet lid open, but we learned pretty quickly to keep it closed and it was fine. We completed the entire itinerary as scheduled. The water temps and currents were weird for our trip, and we didn't see the schools of hammerheads they usually do, but we saw plenty of other stuff. It was a fantastic trip on an awesome boat. If you have any specific questions, let me know and I'll answer if I can.

We were on the May 11-18 cruise and there were no engine issues. The boat when it comes to navigation can go at full speed. We had one dive less than planned because at the time the humboldt current was basically missing and the Panama current pushed against the boat during our travel to Darwin and Wolf so we lost a few hours.
When it comes to the other features of the boat I can comment on cabin 1 which was totally fine. We did not have any smells or similar (the bathroom door was locked at all times because it actually pushes on the air cond when open). The food was good to start then got a bit overcooked from mid week onwards it got better on the last dinner when they could so some shopping in santa cruz.
In my experience on liveaboards and general dive operations this boat would rate 9 from a boat point of view (the boat is a bit tired and not that stable considering it is a steel hull and is large it shakes quite a bit the crew is great the food is good and the house wine and beer are as well) and 8 from a camera point of view (the compressor to dry the equipment was almost always off and I had to ask every day to turn it on and some people were allowed to drop anything on the camera table, the table had rust on the edges and need re-painting) the crew would get a 10 as they were very helpful with some challenging conditions

If I had to rebook a trip there I would seriously consider the same boat except the agressor is the only one that dive cape douglas with the Iguanas
