I never dived a Galapagos live-aboard before the rules were changed in 2007 and I have never dived a 10 day itinerary, so I'm curious to know - from those of you who did have this experience - what I have missed.

From all I have read, it seems that what you miss on the western itinerary is mola molas at Punta Vicente Roca, undersea fumeroles at Roca Redonda and marine iguanas underwater as well as penguins from Fernandina / western Isabela (which I get land-based from Isabela). I know how cold diving the eastern side of Isabela can be and from what I hear, the western side is even colder. Seems this would be a deterrent for many. So I'm curious about the experience.

Would missing those sites make a 7 day regular itinerary less appealing as a result of what you'd miss?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

This is the itinerary I did on a 10 day with Aggressor II.

Checkout dive: Isla Lobos (off San Cristobal)
Baltra-North Seymour (the land excursion with the boobies was Seymour Island)
Cold dives: Punta Vincente Roca (NW corner of Isabella Island)
Wolf: Landslide and Shark Bay
Darwin's Arch
Bartolomew Island land excursion
Cousin's Rock
Gordon's Rock
Darwin Station Land Excursion: Santa Cruz Island

I'm not positive, but I think the main difference btw 7 and 10 day is the extra days spent at Wolf and Darwin.
