Hey everyone,
So... planning my dream dive trip to the Galapagos this December and I’m a little stuck on what wetsuit to bring.
I’ve read a bunch of stuff — some say December is warm-ish (like 23-25C), others say thermoclines can hit hard and suddenly it feels way colder.
So here’s the thing. I was thinking either for a 5mm full suit or a 7mm jumpsuit (JMJ custom without hoods ). I’m trying to decide which one makes more sense.
Anyone who's been there that time of year — what’s your take? Go lighter and risk a little chill, or pack the 7mm and maybe sweat a little topside?
Also... heated vest — yes or no? Worth it? Or am I just overthinking and carrying too much gear for no reason? I tend to get a little cold fast ussualy.
Hood, necessary or no? I hate hoods
How bad are the currents in December?
Anyway, would really appreciate any advice from those who’ve done this already
Thanks a lot in advance
— beers on me if I see you there
