Hi everyone,

I own a G9 with the Canon WP DC 21 housing.

1. Is the D2000 type 3 strobe compatible with this housing ? I'm aware of its limitations re lenses etc...

2. What Inon equipment apart from the strobe head do I need to buy ? i.e. what tray, arm, other equipment to make the strobe work with the housing and camera.

3. What spare accessories do I need ?

4. Any recommendations of where to buy it ? The cheaper the better lol.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

I have the basic set up G9 with Inon D200:

- Optical Fiber
- 3065 Arm SS setZ
- 3224 grip base D111 w/rubber
- Diffuser 0.5mm

if u want to add the inon wet lense u need to get the G9 adaptor ring . hope that help

I am also using G9 + WPDC-21 + Inon D2000 type 3 with cheap fantasea arm + cheap 10 bar FO cable + adapter from FIT and Inon UCL165 M67 makro lens work very well; but sure WA will not work. To avoid backscater u can use unused developed negative film instead of Inon photoclear film. Unfortunately fantasea arm is heavy, so i have to cut my daughter swimming kickboard and attached to the arm to neutralize.
Best price accessories so far from http://www.divervision.com/ and "???????? FUN-IN Underwater Photo Equipment", both are same owner.

I used an Inon D-180 for over four years before it quit. It was a great strobe especially with the focus/target light.

A kind soul recently gave me a Sea & Sea YS-90DX which also has a fiber optic cable. Now that I have been able to compare the two different products I prefer the shape of the Sea & Sea strobe, it is more buoyant than the Inon, and it seems more powerful than my old D-180. The YS-90DX does not have a focus/target light but beggars cannot be choosy.

Having said this, if I was to purchase a strobe today it would be the Sea & Sea YS-110 Alpha. It has a target light.
