Just got back from 2 weeks in Roatan and found my DC500 about as useful underwater as eating glass in the desert. Already listed it on ebay anyhoo have decided to order the G7 but looking for some strobe recomendations from the pros:rofl3: ? Also looking at using B&H photo to order it from have used them in the past and have been happy with there service anyone have any better suppliers than B&H to check pricing etc ?

Sorry one last question . One of my dive buddies suggested buying the camera from a seperate place than where I purchase the housing etc reason being is if I have a camera problem there is generaly less hassle if the seller is not aware it was used for uw photog as the warranty is basicly void once it hits the water (granted flooding would be a whole diffrent issue)

What housing are you getting? I've got my Ike housing on the way, as well as an Ike DS-51 substrobe. Looked at the bigger DS-125, but couldn't warrent spending that much more, especially seeing I'll be limited with WA stuff.

As for the warranty being voided if taken underwater, I couldn't comment on what it's like over there. Here tho, it's totally not true.

Ry.

I wouldn't worry about buying everything from the same source - I've done it both ways and can't see that there would be a problem. And, insurance is your friend ;)

I like the Inon 240 strobe. Sea & Sea have a new one out that looks really nice, too. Ikelite has the 125.

You can find other options for places to buy in the Pink Link in my signature if you want to shop around a bit or if you want expert advice from those who sell rigs all the time so have seen it all.
