I have significantly reduced my options by purchasing a G11 (was a hard decision for a devout Nikonite).

What are the advantages of purchasing the ikelite($600) housing over the canon($200). are there more external flash options? does the internal flash work better? is it significantly better built?

I do not intend to buy a WA lens anytime soon but I suppose it could happen next year. I mostly take macro stuff 20-40ft of blue Caribbean water.

I think fish should have eyes.

Neither the Ikelite or Canon housing offers a true wide-angle solution, but the Fisheye does. There are Dome accessories which you can add to restore the native 28mm range of the G11 on the Ike and Canon, but they are what many consider barely wide angle.

With that being said, if you are mostly a macro guy the G11 will suit you fine. I currently shoot with a G10/Ikelite setup and couldn't be happier. I am not a big fan of the Canon OEM housings due to their poor build quality and lack of customer support. While the Ikelite housing is much more bulky then the Canon housing, it makes up for that with its robustness. The Ikelite also has a higher depth rating and a built in hotshoe plug for true TTL strobe use.
