How do you shoot in manual mode as the housing does not have a control for the wheel. The wheel adjust the shutter speed and aperure?? Is there settings to avoid using the wheel?

Thanks

What was the solution? I'm in the same position now, I cant figure out how to change the settings using the buttons.

Bubbles--From a previous post:

(From p.14 of the WP-DC28 User Guide)
1. When you want to turn the control dial clockwise, press the right arrow button (ie--the Flash button) while pressing (and holding down!) the Shorcut button. (The button all the way to left of the eyepiece.)
2. When you want to turn the control dial counterclockwise, press the left arrow (ie--Macro button) while pressing the Shortcut button.

So for example, if you are in Tv and want to raise shutter speeds, hold down the Shortcut button and press the Flash button ("rt. arrow button"). If you press the Flash button once, it raises one speed, hold it down it just keeps cranking them up, same as rotating the control wheel would.

Sounds weirder than it is--you'll get used to it quickly. // ww

Bubs--This comes up a lot, you would think Canon would manage to publish the info in such a way as to make it more visible in the housing owners manual. I came across the tip in a SB post before I even bought the housing, wonder how many other divers own this setup and never find out about this feature! // ww

I have submitted this to be posted as a "Sticky" here in the Canon sub-forum. I also have it on my website

The Canon WP-DC28 housing does not have the dial control on the back to correspond with the dial on the G10 camera. Therefore another method using two plungers simultaneously is required to change F stops and/or Shutter speeds when using the "M", "Av" or "Tv" modes. The housing does not not come with instructions for this.

Push plunger 5 to select between F stops, Shutter Speeds and Focusing choices.

After selecting one of the above push and hold down plunger 1 then push plunger 7 or 9 to increase or decrease the respective settings.

NOTE: If you don't hold plunger 1 down far enough the flash setting control will appear with plunger 9 and the macro control will appear for plunger 7.

Gilligan, nice post. This has been asked repeatedly over the last year or so. I have responded myself on several previous occasions, but did not see this one until now. Hopefully the mods will make your valuable post a sticky!
Thanks
Tom

Sticky sticky sticky!!! I dunno, maybe we should hijack the thread, talk about dirty stuff like MOF and split fins vs global whining and see if a mod jumps in and notices ?? I vote Gilligan's post for the sticky model, the photo diagram really helps. // ww

Another question: if I shoot RAW do I need to care about proper manual settings (aperture, shutter speed, white balance, tec.) ?
