I can get a used G10 and housing for about the same price as a used S95 and housing, or I could get the S12 for about $100 more. I think the G12 is out of my price range, so I'm more curious about G10 vs S95. I have used the G10 with a canon housing, and it is a nice camera, but I had a couple of problems with it, the internal flash would not work with anything close, which is the only time I would want the internal flash, because of the lens blocking light on the bottom half of the picture. I have read that this is better with the S95. I am also looking for something without a whole lot of shutter delay, is the s95 any faster than the g10? I also like the smaller size of the S95. Which one do you guys think is better and why?

I think I have decided on the s95, unless anyone thinks I would be better off with the g10. It seems to me that pic quality will be just as good with the s95, in a smaller package. I am still a little concerned about the shutter lag, it seems it is .6sec on the s95 and .4sec on the g10, do those numbers seem right? Has anyone noticed it being a big problem on the s95?

there are many s95 - s90 threads that are great to search through

giggity, you are correct on the G10 Canon housing lens tunnel blocking the lower right portion of macro shots. This is also true for the G11 and G12. Other than using an external strobe the solution is to back away from the subject and zoom in on it. The S90 and S95 Canon housings have shorter lens tunnels so the problem is not as pronounced. You can see the difference in the below photo:

I have a G10 and G12 and have used an S90 and found no significant shutter lag in any of them.
