So after trying out the Canon housing for a while, I have decided to upgrade to the FIX housing.

If anyone has any suggestions or experience with the FIX please let me know! Specifically in regards to the super wide angle lens.

And if anyone is interested in a mint Canon housing with a Fantasea BigEye lens... see my classified on this site.

Cheers,
Chris

i didn't get the wideangle yet, but I got the Fix 10 and a Sea&sea ys-110 and love it, now i just gotta find time to work on all the pics I took in Maui. the Fix is rock solid and performed amazing

My wife and I recently got G10/Fix/YS110a systems. Here is an album of the first UW photos I took last week in Cozumel. Cozumel09/UnderWater

I used the FIX Fisheye lens port and the flipdown macro lens adapter with the flat port.

I have the G10/FIX with both flat port and the older, 15mm wide angle port ... as well as a pair of YS-110a strobes. For the most part I like the setup ... it gives me everything I'd hoped it would, and I'm really happy with the capabilities of the setup (not necessarily when the results I produce all the time, though).

About the only thing that I find bothersome is the size of the housing control buttons ... they're rather small if you're diving with gloves. But for warm-water applications it's not an issue (not really an issue anyway, just that you have to put effort into finding and pressing the correct button, especially with bulky drygloves).

When I first got it, I had some issues making the strobes fire. It turned out to be due to the way the optical cord connector attaches to the front of the housing (offset toward the edge of the housing, in order to accommodate changing lens ports). I made my own connector and resolved the problem.

Thanks for the info guys, I should have it tomorrow and in the water Friday.

Just keeping my fingers crossed that the new G11 will fit with minimal/no modification to the housing. Looks like the G11 is a bit wider/taller by about .10 inches... so who knows...
