Greetings:

Just got back from 6 days in Marathon. Water was rough, 3-5' seas until the last day. Dove Sombrero Reef and the reef at marker 48. Good stuff.

Welcome aboard. I am heading done at the end of month. Probably Looie, or key west.

Just back from the long weekend in Key Largo... flat seas, nice vis, topped off with the fireworks right outside our hotel balcony! Good times: click for pix

Thanks! Stayed at the Key Largo Marriott and dived with Pirate Island Divers (formerly Itsa Dive), the shop on the grounds of the hotel. A good shop and a very nice place to stay. The boat wasn't too crowded, and the crew was helpful..

One criticism of the Marriott was that we had a two bedroom place with only one bathroom. That's unusual in my experience, and it got a bit tight when we had four people there (we originally planned on five!). I mentioned this to the manager and he seemed to agree, although I guess it would be pretty hard to do anything about it now!

Thanks! It's my brand new system, just arrived the day before I left for the Keys, so I anticipate getting better with it as I figure out some of the details. It's a Canon EOS 7D in a Nauticam housing, with two Inon S2000 strobes. For the past few years, I have been shoting with an EOS 10D in an Ikelite housing with a single DS-125 strobe.

The 7D also has very nice HD video! I really have to figure out how that works, but I was able to shoot a few clips. Check it out...

Mike
