I returned to FL early this week and finished Full Cave with Dan Patterson. We did a day of guided diving first, just to make sure my knee, 12 weeks from an ACL replacement, would hold up. Then two days for Full Cave and a couple of more days diving.

The instruction, as in the past, was excellent. Dan's experience and knowledge are evident and he works hard to transfer as much as possible to the student. We had some great dives and difficult exercises with instructive debriefs afterwards. The toughest exercise for me was the lost line drill. After putting on the blacked out mask, I was taken out of the flow in Ginnie, way off the line and spun round several times. It took me a while to find it after that!

We dove the following systems:

Peacock I
Teleford
Madison Blue (2x)
Little river (2x)
Ginnie (2x) (Tried to make the double domes on a stage, but that swim is a bear!)
Peacock III to Hensley's castle on 19/35 for me (narc easily)

As usual I can highly recommend Dan Patterson as an instructor. Dan has a new website, http://www.danpattersondiving.com which has his complete information including his training calendar.

I stayed at Dive Outpost during my diving and I can also highly recommend this as a place to stay! http://www.diveoutpost.com/

A great week overall, can't wait to get back and do some more.

i've met him a few times, and he seems very nice. i'm glad you had a good time!

Congratulations!

Some of the dives you mention there raised one of my eyebrows. I am not a cave teacher, but I didn't expect depth and stages to be done at this level.?

Deco and stages were part of my full cave course...
