Is this a good first strobe set up? Also should I buy the fibre optic cable to go with my lumix fx35 or is it not necessary? Thanks

It is odd that low end camera are meant for the point and shoot crowd, but low end strobes, being fully manual, are the exact opposite of that. So when people who has no experience with shooting photo besides pushing the shutter button get a low end strobe that is completely manual, they would be asking for alot more involvement than they asked for. Sadly they have to go up quite high in price to get the point and shoot feature that they are use to with their camera.
