I am planning on getting a Fuji f100fd camera with the WP-FXF 100 Housing both total $230.00 (includes $100 rebate). Is this a good price for a beginner underwater camera and does it take good pics (im not a pro).

Thanks for any responses

Yes it is a good price for a beginner camera and housing. The F series are not exactly beginner cameras though. The F series is Fuji's advanced point and shoot series. Not that a beginner can't use it but it may have more options than you'll need. My first setup was a Fuji F-700 and I presently have a F50fd SE. The price is a litte less than what I paid for my F50fd and housing. I'm not familiar with the F100fd but for a beginner I'm sure it will serve you well. Compared to the other offerings in that price range it's a whole lot more camera.

That's a great price! Mind sharing where you can buy it for that?

To answer your question: Go for it. You can't buy anything better for the money, and that camera has room to grow.

My advise? Take the money you saved and invest in a strobe as soon as you can. That's what takes underwater snapshots and turns them into photographs. ;)

I got the camera from Tri State Camera (online) (wow in one day) and the housing from e-bay but unfortunately the ad said WP-FXF 100 Housing but when it was delivered it was a WP-FXZ 100 (did not fit my camera). Si I got it from BH camera (online) for $149.00. So the total cost for both was $280.00

So have you played with the camera? How do you like it?
After your housing correction the pricing is slightly higher than my F50fd SE but they are very similar cameras.
