It appears, on close analysis, to be an eel of some kind. I say that because it is not a snake. 
Maybe a juvenile Goldentail Moray Eel? Sorry but I'm separated from my ID books for (hopefully) two more months.

Mine is back in Ft. Hood while I attend Master Gunner course at Ft. Benning. Hopefully won’t see them until September- but this is statistically the most difficult Army course in existence.Yeah, my me too. My Humann-Deloach book is 12 hrs of flight away from me now

Looks like a Speckled Worm-eel, Myrophis punctatus.
