I'm a Fish!
lately with facebook in existance - I have looked hard into differant forum. i have found a cool forum-Its free and has 2 formats. Phpnuke platnum 7.6 b4. its free buts needs someone who knows how to setup. ITS 3d looking and used for gaming guys but is very adaptable for something like this.It has over 300 add-ons including VO-IP. The other is phpnuke-which is simpliar. both are pretty sharp and allows advertising and donations and SWF.
MIght want to look into it

Who is using it? Show some links.

I only saw one website that was actually using it http://www.phantomrebelscorp.com/index.php, and it had 35 members, whereas thousands of websites use vBulletin. The other links I found on google where people said it used PHP Nuke were all 404 errors.

It would take a lot of convincing for me to believe that abandoning vBulletin for something else was worth doing.
