here's a giant damsel in the waters off Isla Carmen in the Gulf of California.

I've always been fond of damsels, especially the two-legged variety.

this one a Limbaugh's damsel on the wreck of the Fang Ming off Isla Espiritu Santo in the Gulf of California (much as I loved Steinbeck and Ricketts' Sea of Cortez, the namesake was a murderer and the name is not favored in Mexico).

a nice school of blacksmith in Catalina's Dive Park. Imagine the fertilizer that gets added to the algae on inshore rocks when these babies shelter at night after feeding on plankton.
