Greetings,

This past weekend I completed my OW class, and am now certified. I just wanted to introduce myself, and "Check In" with the rest of the club. Currently the agenda is 1. Get Some Gear, 2. Go Diving, 3. Repeat as necessary. :)

I'm in central Jersey, and plan on some quarry dives, to get my feet wet. Any advise from my fellow divers is always appreciated.

Best Regards,

John

My advice would be to look for some good buddies who always dive (look in local clubs, through this forum, or through your LDS). Keep diving and improving your skills. Also, update your profile so that people can cater suggestions to your needs and location.

Renting gear costs way more than buying in the long run. But you need to do your research on gear - I read somewhere on the site that 'you can be sorry about spending that much money once or you can be sorry multiple times' - so make sure you get the right gear for you and your goals.

Welcome.

Definitely buy once, cry once.

Do a few dives with rental gear to recognize your personal preferences.
