This is the famous Freedom Stainless Steel Backplate hand formed by Eric Sedletsky in California.
The plate weighs 1.8kg (4 lbs) and has been designed to fit an Oxycheq single tank wing but will fit any standard single tank wing.
The plate includes a built in Single Tank Adaptor which stabilises the bottle. No bolts are required to secure the wing to the plate, just tighter the two cam bands and the wing is secured between the plate and the bottle.
The adaptor is set at a slight angle to allow the plate to sit flush against your back by pushing the bottle out slightly from you butt.
Considered to be the most comfortable stainless backplate on the market, as it has been hand formed to fit the contours of the divers back.
This plate has a huge following in the States and is known as the "Rolex of Backplates".
These plates are selling for over $200 new.
